60 leaders join CPI

Telangana State CPI secretary Chada Venkat Reddy has called upon the people to get ready to agitate against “anti-people and anti-labor” policies of the State and Central governments from October 5. He said the party will stage dharnas in front of the Collectorates across the Telangana as a part of a movement against the price hike of essential goods.

Welcoming new-comers from various parties joining the party at Maqdoom Bhavan here on Tuesday, Chada said since its inception in 1920, the party played pivotal role in freedom struggle. After independence, it fought for the welfare of poor, labor and workers. He also pointed out that Communists played historical role when the erstwhile Nizam refused to merge with Indian Union and thousands of Communists sacrificed their lives to exert pressure on the then Nizam to join the Indian Union.

The CPI leader said Prime Minister Narendra Modi alone got good days and created history by roaming several countries in a short time. He also said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao cannot fool the people for a long time with his “magic” words. Some 60 leaders from various political parties joined the CPI under the aegis of Mallesh, Pasha, Salman Khan and Mohammed Imran. Chada and former MP Azeez Pasha, Ilaiah, Esurathnam, Yousuf, Gelvaiah, Rakesh Singh and Varamma were present. (NSS)
