Minority Welfare Department has begun groundwork for establishment of 60 English Medium Residential Schools for minorities in Telangana. A meeting of high officials of Minority Welfare Department was held in connection with the establishment of Minorities Residential Schools Society on the lines of BC Residential Schools Society.
It must be recalled that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has sanctioned the establishment of 30 residential schools for boys and 30 schools for girls. He has directed to immediately identify the rented buildings so that the schools could begin from the next academic year in the rented buildings till the construction of own buildings.
Government has sanctioned 2100 staff for the schools including teaching and non-teaching staff. He has directed to acquire the land of Chanchalguda jail and Racecourse for establishing residential schools.
