New Delhi, July 17:Attacking Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over his earlier statement on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said the 56-inch chest contains the self esteem of the farmers and the poor.
“He talks about 56-inches, we congratulate him for acquiring ‘Darjee ka feeta’ (tailor’s measuring tape), let him go around measuring chests. This 56-inch chest is not because of them (Congress),” BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told media persons.
“The 56-inch chest is because of the blessings of crores of people of the nation. This 56-inch chest contains self esteem of the farmers and the poor. Rahul Gandhi should not attempt to measure it,” he added.
Addressing Congress workers in Jaipur, the Congress vice-president poked fun at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ’56-inch’ chest, saying his party and the people of this country will reduce it to 5.6 inches in the next six months. (ANI)
