Marriage alliance has become the biggest challenge in Telangana in general and Hyderabad in particular. Although Islam has commanded to make the marriages simple, the marriages held now a days are nothing but exhibition of extravaganza.
In this scenario the campaign initiated by Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan to prevent extravagance in marriages is bearing fruits. Siasat and Minorities Development Forum began Du Ba Du programme in the year 2007 where thousands of matches right from SSC to PhD are available.
According to President MDF Mr. Abid Siddiqui and Vice President MDF Mr. Abdul Qadeer during the past few years nearly 50 Du Ba Du matrimonial alliance programmes were conducted in the city through which 4767 marriages were settled so far. The best part of it was dowry was avoided in those marriages. This has brought a healthy revolution among Muslims.
