4.85 km long tricolor exhibited on Necklace Road

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi on Friday, the nation’s largest 4.85 km-long tricolour was exhibited on the Necklace Road around the Hussain Sagar lake.

The biggest national flag was rolled out by thousands of students on the Necklace Road under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs, Telangana State Government and Khadi Industry. The event was witnessed by Asia Book of Records, Bharat Book of Records and Viswa Guru Book of Records.

           

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Telangana State Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and T Mahender Reddy were present. The organizers revealed that the largest national flag entered the record book.

           

Speaking on this occasion, Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao exhorted people to extend a helping hand to the Khadi & Handloom industry by wearing cotton clothes. Bandaru Dattatreya said the Centre would also strive towards this end. (NSS)
