According to the victims, eight hours after consuming food under the mid-day meal, they fell sick and started vomiting and also complained about frequent bowel movements, uneasiness and colic.

Talking to PTI, acting headmaster of the middle school, Girdharilal Sahu said, “As usual, we served iron pills to children besides puri with cooked potato dish and kheer (a sweet dish made of rice and milk) as part of the midday meal.

But I don’t know what went wrong.”
