30, 000 seats vacant in Engineering Colleges

Hyderabad: At the end of the second phase of counseling 30, 788 seats fell vacant in many Engineering Colleges. In EAMCET 2015, 98, 643 candidates got qualified. Under Convener Quota, there were 86, 805 seats available. In the first phase 53, 347 seats were filled up out of which 42, 418 candidates joined the colleges. In the second counseling 7, 475 candidates got admission on the basis of merit. 16, 170 candidates changed their colleges and the branches of Engineering courses. Allotments for the remaining seats started after 5:30 p.m. on 1st August. At the end of the second phase, 30, 788 seats fell vacant. In this manner at the end of second counseling, there is a need to fill up more than 30000 seats under A category for which another phase of counseling is required.
