2BHK flats for poor – Muslims fear deprivation

Hyderabad: CM of Telangana State, Mr. KCR made an announcement on the occasion of Dussehra festival in order to fulfill one of his election promises which made the poor of this state happier. Instead of feeling happy the Muslims of this state have an apprehension that a sizeable population of the Muslims might be deprived of these benefits since 12% reservation has not been finalized.

Mr. KCR declared that in 10 districts of Telangana, sixty thousand double bedroom flats would be constructed in the next eight months for the poor. Each flat of 560 sq.ft. would cost Rs. 5.04 lakh. Mr. KCR has also announced that 19% flats would be reserved for Telangana employees but he did not mention about 12% reservation for Muslims. In this situation, it may be possible the Muslims would get only 4% of the flats and 8% deserving Muslims would deprive of this benefit. The poor Muslims of Telangana demand that these flats should be provided to them according to their size of population.
