25-year-old woman raped on pretext of marriage for the past 2 years, registers complaint

Faridabad, Haryana: A case has been registered against a man for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman on several occasions for the past two years on the pretext of marriage, police said here on Thursday.

An FIR has been registered against Rahul Singh, a native of Jammu and Kashmir at Ballabgarh police station yesterday under relevant sections of IPC, for raping the victim at different places, they said.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that the accused befriended her on a social networking site in September 2013, ASI Sheela Devi said.

Singh invited the victim to his house in Noida, where he allegedly raped her and was later dropped at Badarpur Border.The victim was raped by Singh several times later. She was again asked by the accused in 2015 to come to Ballabgarh for getting married, police said.

She was taken to a house in Navlu Colony in Ballabgarh and raped by Singh.

The couple lived together from January to June this year, but the accused vanished in June, leaving the woman behind.
When the victim called on his phone, he threatened her, police said.

The medical test of the victim is still awaited, Devi said, adding that the culprit will be nabbed soon.
