22- year-old youth killed by gas shell shot by CRPF on Modi’s Kashmir visit.

Srinagar: On the eve of Indian Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s Valley visit  on Saturday evening. A youth was killed by security forces who allegedly used tear smoke shells and opened fire on protesters to disperse the protesters at Zainakote area of Srinagar city.

The youth were protesting against curbs imposed to foil ‘Million March’ called by Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

22 year old youth identified as Gowhar Nazir Dar,an engineering student  of SSM College Pattan, was hit by tear gas shell in his head on Thursday. He was  immediately shifted to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura where he was declared dead.

The separatist leader have called for a complete shutdown on Sunday. The death  of the youth  trigged outrage among people.

Hurriyat (G) said in a statement that. “The killings of innocent people particularly teen age students have been a norm and an old tradition of Indian occupational forces in Jammu and Kashmir. The pro-Indian political parties particularly the ruling RSS backed PDP is directly responsible for the innocent killings in Kashmir, because they have always played the role of advocators of Indian Military Occupation in the state.”
