11 eve-teasers held and sentenced

Eleven persons, including five minors, were caught by the SHE Teams of Hyderabad City Police, at various places for resorting to eve-teasing, creating nuisance and harassing women in different ways.

In the first case, Shravan Yadav, 19, son of one Venkatesh of Rajannabavi, Falaknuma, was stalking girls regularly while they were going to Owaisi hospital by college bus. He used to wait at the bus stop for their arrival and stalking, teasing and passing lewd comments at the girls since many days. He was also following the college bus up to 5km every day.

On a complaint given by bus driver, SHE Team caught the accused along with video and photo evidence, booked a case and produced before Magistrate concerned. The boy was sentenced to two days’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50.

In the second case, Syed Ashen Omer, 23, a BAMS doctor of Tolichowki was caught by the SHE team when he was teasing a woman at Tolichowki bus stop and sending vulgar messages and making blank calls to her. He was arrested and produced before the court and was fined Rs 50.

In the third case, while the SHE team was keeping a watch at SR Nagar, near Royal Junior College, seven persons (five minors and two majors) identified as Rishpal Singh of Ameerpet and G. Ganesh of Jawahar Nagar, Yousufguda were found teasing girls and passed lewd comments at girl students and teachers. They were also committing obscene acts creating public nuisance. The SHE team recorded the entire episode and caught them red handed. While minors were counselled before their parents and majors were arrested and produced in the court.

In the fourth case, one R. Karthik, 22, a student of Prakashnagar, Khammam, was harassing and teasing a woman. On the complaint given by the victim, a case was booked and he was arrested and produced before the Court.

In the fifth case, a lady posted a picture of a bike on the face book page. She stated that when she was in Bowenpalli area at around 5 am, she noticed one person following her on bike. Immediately, she informed the matter to her male colleague, who came and tried to confront the accused, but he fled. The male friend of the woman took a snap of the bike and posted it on the face book page. The SHE team immediately nabbed accused Mohd Ziauddin, 27, of NBT Nagar, Banjara Hills. He was arrested and produced in the court which sentenced him to two days imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50.
