‘Nai Roshni’ scheme for minority women

Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India invites proposals from eligible Organizations/Institutions for conducting training programmes for minority
women within the framework of prescribed training modules under “Nai Roshni”,
Ministry’s premier Scheme for Leadership Development of Minority Women.

The proposals are to be submitted to District Collector through District Minority Welfare Officer, who in-turn will forward it to Ministry directly verifying the credentials of the organization/s.

Use ballot to realise separate Telangana state: TRS chief

Buoyed by the arrival of a trio of leaders who left Congress to join his Telangana Rashtra Samithi, party president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said that a good showing in elections would help them realise their separate statehood goal.

“We have to use the ballot for achieving a separate state (of Telangana),” Rao said at a party meet in Manthani, about 70-km from here. Assembly Elections in Andhra Pradesh are due next year.

K Keshava Rao, Manda Jagannatham and G Vivek, the three former Congress leaders who earlier this week joined TRS, were present on the occasion.

TDP finalizes strategy to contact people

In order to get success for TDP candidates in 2014 elections, a meeting of party observers of various Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies is in progress for the past two days at NTR Trust Bhavan in Banjara Hills. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu is presiding over this meeting. He is eliciting information from each constituency from party cadre. TDP observers are being given training to create awareness among the people and also to prepare the schedule for the next election. Mr. Naidu advised the observers to bridge the gap between the party candidates and the people.

Muslim intellectuals deliberates on common issues

Noted Social Activists and Chairman of A.P. State Minorities Commission, Mr. Abid Rasool Khan invited 30 Muslim intellectuals to dinner on 4th June in Hyderabad. The purpose of this meeting to discuss a strategy to get the issues of the Muslims resolved by political parties making use of the occasion of General Elections to be held in 2014. Maulana Syed Jalal Uddin Umari, Ameer Jamat-e- Islami of India and Vice President of Muslim Personal Law Board participated in the meeting as the guest of honour. Dr. Mohd Niyaz Ahmed Khan, Managing Director of SAAP medicals Pvt. Ltd. has been nominated as member of the Osmania University Advisory Committee for its center for international programs (formerly American Studies Research Center).

Prof. S.Satyanarayana, Vice Chancellor of Osmania University is the Chairman of the Advisory committee, which consists of 20 members.

Important meeting of A.P. Cabinet today

An important meeting of A.P. Cabinet is being held today to consider the strategy for the ensuing budget session of the Assembly starting on 10th June. Haj Committee downgrades 12,000 pilgrims to Aziziya Category

The Haj Committee of India Mumbai has decided to down-grade nearly 12,000 Pilgrims from Green to Aziziya Category for Haj-2013.

The decision was taken following large scale demolitions that took place near Haram Sharif in Makkah Mukarramah in the areas which were traditionally occupied by the Indian Pilgrims. Therefore, only 40,000 Green accommodation units are available in Makkah Mukarramah for the Pilgrims of Haj-2013. However, around 52,000 selected Pilgrims have opted for Green Category accommodation.

Man consumes insecticide, commits suicide at TRS meeting

A pro-Telangana agitator on Thursday ended his life by consuming insecticide at a Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) meeting in Manthani town of Karimnagar district, police said.

As TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was addressing the meeting, Gunda Nagaraju (32) of Surayyapalli village of Manthani mandal, all of a sudden, tried to board the dais, but partymen stopped him.

Nagaraju immediately went behind the dais and consumed insecticide raising the slogan “Jai Telangana”.

CM directs officials to increase electricity supply

The Chief Minister Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy today directed for restoration of maximum possible power supply to all sectors by reducing the load relief.

Due to several measures taken by the State Government, the Chief Minister today directed the Officials to reduce the Electricity Load Relief and increase power supply to all sectors. It may be stated here that the demand has also come down due to fall in temperature and onset of monsoon.

Legal Status For ‘Bangaru Thalli’: Anam

‘Bangaru Thalli’ programme will be approved in the State Cabinet meeting to be held on Friday and then legal status would be created for it in the Assembly meetings.

Danam Says No Opponents To Kiran In Cabinet Now

The Labour Minister D Nagender has stated today that there were no opponents to the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in the State Cabinet now. Dr Shankar rao was removed from the Ministry earlier and Dr D L Ravindra Reddy recently.
Speaking to the media here, Nagender said that Dr Ravinder Reddy was removed from the Cabinet as per the directions of the party High Command only. He added that in the Congress party, the Chief Ministers would not take decisions on their own.

Vijaysai Reddy special prisoner

The CBI Special Court has ruled that Vijyasai Reddy should be treated as a special prisoner.

The verdict was pronounced after he petitioned with the court yesterday to accord the special status. He surrendered before the court after his interim bail was cancelled.

Reddy pleaded with the court to allow him to use medications for his ailments and accord special status while in custody. On surrendering the designated court has remanded him to judicial custody up to June 17. (INN)

Andhra reduces duration of power cuts

The Andhra Pradesh government has reduced the duration of power cuts as the onset of monsoon has brought down demand.

The electricity cuts in Hyderabad, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Warangal, district headquarters and corporations were lifted. The major cities were having daily two-hour cuts.

The authorities have also increased power supply in rural areas from present 12 hours to 18 hours. The duration of cuts will be reduced from 12 to six hours.
